Jesus, My ‘Googleganger’
I remember reading of a group of wordsmiths from the American Dialect Society who chose the word ‘SUBPRIME’ as the word of the year for 2007. Now although this word has been around for some time in banking circles, with the collapse of the subprime mortgage markets at that time, it soon became a word affecting all kinds of people in all kinds of places. The bottom line is that this word now means something that is far, so very far below the best. “This food is subprime!” “My preparation for this test is subprime.” “This man’s heart is subprime and God, My God, that heart is mine!” This is, more than any other time in history, the time of identity theft. Anyone and today that means just about everyone, can now have their identity hijacked and utilized for fraudulent means to the benefit of the thief. Speaking as a ‘Subprime’ individual, I wish someone would steal my identity and give me a new one. Some reverse identity theft, that’s what I need folks, I tell you the truth. It’s this last thought that brings me tonight to Jesus my 'Googleganger'.
Yes, coming a close second to being chosen as word of the year in 2007 was the word ‘Googleganger!’ Literally, a ‘Googleganger’ is someone with the same name who’s records are intermixed with your own when you Google yourself. Now bear with me please for it struck me as a saving thought and a delightful muse, that whenever a search for the eternal records of the Rev. Victor Robert Farrell might be made on the heavenly internet, mixed in with my details, indeed, overlaying all the poverty, all the moral bankruptness and low moral credit ratings of every kind, shall be the goodness of my Saviour Jesus Christ my Lord. His righteous records shall written to my account. Of course dear friends, I am so very pleased to say that tonight this is more than an idle thought, it is an ever present reality. Jesus is my 'Googleganger', make sure to make Him yours as well.
