Dream Word – CHANGE

Jeremiah 2:32 Can a virgin forget her ornaments, Or a bride her attire? Yet My people have forgotten Me days without number. NKJV

Forgotten Days

In 1752, today, September the 14th, really appeared out of nowhere! For it was today that the United Kingdom of Great Britain and its Empire (including that troublesome colony across the pond) left the old Julian calendar (OS-Old Style) and adopted the Gregorian Calendar (NS-New Style.) The only problem was that to do this, you had to lose eleven days. So, yes sir, yesterday in 1752 was the 3rd of September!

The old Julian Calendar (OS) was slowly but increasingly getting misaligned with the seasons. That, coupled with the Roman Catholic church wanting to implement the 325AD Ecumenical Council of Nicea’s idea to celebrate Easter at the time of its own suggested calculation, (almost like getting a pope-driven atomic clock for the whole church) meant that the Gregorian Calendar (NS) was eventually adopted by one and all. At last, I can find some justification for me at times not even knowing what day of the week it is!

There is encouragement here in this re-ordering of calendars for sometimes, there are days and even weeks of time that must be laid aside, must even be forgotten, so that we can enter into a more realistic and rightly rhythmical way of walking, way of living, way of moving on into our future, into our destinies. Yes indeed, there are some days that need to be consigned to the garbage heap. Maybe you had one of those days today? If so, then let it go, delete it, consign it to the waste bin.

We do however have an increasing number of other forgotten days. Days we have forgotten about God. Days we have had no conscious awareness of His presence, of His providence and of His protection. Frankly, this has not bothered us one bit, as we have had these forgetful days, well and truly junked up with a whole bunch of other stuff. It is not good to forget God.

Tonight, I have to tell you that it is far too easy for us to lose days with God, even days without number! I wonder then, if it would be good for us tomorrow, if as we put on our clothes, we also prayerfully put on our armour and in the so doing, remembered God? I wonder if it would be good for us all, that in the same way you ladies put on your makeup and your jewellery in the morning, that we also adorn ourselves with the graces of God for the coming day and in the so doing, so adorn ourselves with the remembrance of Him? Yes, tomorrow friends, let us dress ourselves with God and let us have no more forgotten days of fellowship with our Father. Let us begin to actively remember God!

Listen:- Who is she who looks forth as the morning, Fair as the moon, Clear as the sun, Awesome as an army with banners? Song of Solomon 6:10 NKJV

Pray:- Lord on the morrow help me to adorn myself with You and this night O Lord, in my thoughts and in my dreams, help me to pick out the right clothes to wear for the coming day. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
