Dream Word – WORSHIP
Hebrews 1:3 ..who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, NKJV.
The Floodlight Of The Father
Concerning the word ‘brightness’ in our text for tonight, the Greek word ‘apaugasma’ is only ever used here in the New Testament. It literally means an off flash, a solar flare, a glory hole into His holy furnace, a floodlight from the Father’s heart shined on to hopeless humanity, all groping around in the dark, not even struggling to find the light switch. Concerning the glory of God then, Jesus is the ‘brightness’ of that glory on two legs, a tangible and touchable torch of illuminating love. Jesus is God. God, the light of the world made manifest among us and moved into our neighbourhood.
In the darkness of this very night, should you be awoken by strange noises, probably the first thing you reach for is a light, some form of illumination to light your way and show you the danger as well as hopefully frighten away the predator! Jesus is such a light and you need Him, for the strange noises you hear in your spirit are the creakings of your sin and the distant clawing of demons who make ready at a moment’s notice, to come and devour your soul. Yes, you really do need to reach for Jesus the light and let Him safely guide your path and frighten all your predators away. There is no other way to hush the distant clawing and close the mouths of predatory lions. So, get Jesus tonight, yes, ask for the floodlight of God to come and shine in the very centre of your dark, beleaguered being.
Listen: - Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." John 8:12 NKJV.
Pray:- Turn on Your light O God, turn on Your light and let all the darkness flee away. Turn on Your light O God, turn on Your light and make safe my bear trapped way. Turn on Your Light O God, turn on Your light and all fear and trepidation sever. Turn on Your Light O God, turn on Your light and drive the darkness back forever. In Jesus name I ask it, amen.
