Destroying Distraction

The ‘dumbing down’ of television continues, but evidence of its global dimension to dumb down so thoroughly and with such entertaining zest, was found in the 1980’s CBS Television series called ‘Dallas.’ The story of a corrupt and powerful, wealthy family in the rich oil business was encapsulated by the seedy and steely lead character, a Mr. ‘John Ross Ewing’ as he was known to both his friends and his enemies. Like all evil characters in pantomime, John Ross Ewing got his comeuppance when a secret assassin tried to kill him. Today in 1980, many estimate that some 350 million people tuned in their television sets to find out just who shot J.R. Imagine that! 350 million people!

Distraction is a key form of attack in the devil’s plan to keep people in utter blindness. Entertainment has always been a key conduit for disinformation, disarmament, disability and distraction to be drip fed to the masses. Now don’t get me wrong here, it works both ways in that entertainment is also a conduit for truth, armament, endowed ability and focus! Yes and because of this, it has always been and will increasingly become a key battleground for the truth. I am not against entertainment, but want you to become aware tonight that when you open yourself to it, you are indeed, being warred upon.

Time is short and the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Do not be distracted by silliness, do not be misled or misinformed, Do not be pacified, petrified or putrefied by little pixels of every kind because I tell you this, whenever the enemy gets you distracted, he shall try and rip your bowels out with a blunt and rusty knife. Watch how you watch. Watch what you watch. Watch where you watch. Watch who you watch.

Listen: - Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. Revelation 3:3 NKJV

Pray: - Guide me in my looking Lord. Saviour, show me what to see and in all my fretful glances God, may my watching eyes alight on Thee. Amen.
