Dream Word – FIGHT
Hosea 10:2 Their heart is divided; Now they are held guilty. NKJV.
Sweet Smiles & Sheer Lies
The title of tonight’s 'Whisper' is how Eugene Peterson's ‘The Message’, translates our opening text. I think it most accurate, for I have found both ever and always, that a divided heart can be nothing else but a deceptive heart.
Whenever we are of two minds, whenever we are indecisive, we shall become full of deception. We shall deceive ourselves into thinking anything but the truth about the situation, and while this most selfish of self-deceptions continues, we shall inevitably deceive others regarding our directions, actions and intentions.
Deception will inevitably mean a spreading of the legs and of placing a foot in two camps. This trepidatious condition will put us off balance and shall inevitably result in a fall and the frightening thing is that this spreading of the legs can begin to happen so very subtly indeed. Fortunately, there is a tell-tale sign for us to watch out for. Attend to this, and the slow slippery leg spreading will be reversed. I am of course talking about the sign of ‘Disguise.’
Take note within yourselves, that whenever you are disguising your true feelings, whenever you are disguising your heart intentions, your countenance, your whereabouts, your bank account, your sale amount, then you are donning a disguise. Careful now, for the legs are spreading.
The answer of course to the symptom of ‘Disguise’ is that of focus. Whatever the task, whatever the purpose, whatever the relationship, there is great safety in a singleness of heart, a singleness of heart that decisively pursues, loves and commits. So, if your legs are beginning to spread, you had best drop the disguises and come to a focused and safe, most singleness of heart.
Listen: - You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. (Deuteronomy 6:5 NKJV.)
Pray:- Lord, forgive my spreading legs and help me to be a one camp person, focused, solid, steadfast and sure, in Jesus name I ask it, amen.
