Mar | 24 | The Listerine of Light

Key Word:- CONSIDER

Title:- The Listerine of Light

Galatians 5:15 But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!

“That England, that was wont to conquer others, hath made a shameful conquest if itself.” (Richard III Acts 2 Scene i)

Civil War is an ugly thing. Like cancer, it is but the body turning inwards and eating itself alive. In the same way, the rebellion of the tongue can turn us into cannibals where the church of the living God is then communally devoured, belittled and brought to open shame, by both overtly ghastly and sometimes even seemingly harmless, ‘Godly’ gossip.

Tongues have toppled Kingdoms friends and they may yet topple you. In all respects, our hearts and our lips must be fully yielded to God, all the time, at every moment. The Scripture does not speak in vain when it counsels us to let nothing but ‘beefy and building’ up kind of words proceed from our mouth! Yes, watch your mouth, because Listerine won’t work here!I cannot clean with Listerine
This tame-less world of evil
Nor steer to tame
Praise due His name
By this corrupting
Restless
Evil

I cannot tire this field of fire
Nor cork this dripping flask of poison
Or lock behind my steeled barred teeth
This hellish
Spitting
Forked tongue
Let me ask you today then friend, are you speaking with a forked tongue? Careful now, someone’s going to get their reputation punctured and it just might be you? Be careful that you do not make a shameful conquest of yourself today! Don’t become a dark cannibal. Today, let’s stop the church making a shameful conquest of her very self again.

Listen: -no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. James 3:8

Pray: - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)
