Key Word:- ASK
Title:- Location, Location, Location!
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Graduation time in America is when many words of wisdom are hoisted upon happy but cringing listeners. The best I have heard so far is a little morsel from an unknown teacher somewhere out there in fading Americana, here it is - “The next best thing to knowing something, is knowing where to find it.” I like that.
I read yesterday of a Pastor who served for 40 years in a church and never put a foot wrong, until one day he went out to lunch instead of burying one of his recently deceased congregation. Unfortunately, his secretary couldn’t find him because he had no mobile phone and took lunch that day at a completely different restaurant from his usual haunt. He was never forgiven!
Even the best of people can let you down, in that sometimes you can never find them when you need them. I have a sign on my study door, which indicates many of our erratic lifestyles:
OPEN most days about 9 or 10Occasionally as early as 7, But SOMEDAYS
As late as 12 or 1
WE CLOSE about 5:30 or 6
Occasionally about 4 or 5
Sometimes as late as 11 or 12
SOMEDAYS or afternoons, we
Aren’t here at all and lately
I’ve been here just about all the time,
Except when I’m some place else.
Not being able to find someone isn’t very helpful is it? We need to know for certain the availability and whereabouts of the people and products we rely on. The asthmatic needs to know where his inhaler is, the heart patient his tablets, the mother her toddler and most of all, the disciple his Master. Tell me today, do you know where to find your Lord?
Listen: - Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, Hebrews 8:1
Pray: - Lord, thank you for Your ever present and always fixed location, there at the right hand of our Father, ever making intercession for us. Thank You Jesus that we may always find You, day or night, sunshine or shadow. Thank you and amen.
