Jul | 16 | The Clarity & Change of The Ramrod of Correction

Dream Word – BECOME

Philippians 3:12-14 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. NKJV

The Clarity & Change of The Ramrod of Correction

Last night, I made reference to Winston’s Churchill’s ‘Finest Hour' speech and I shall refer to it again tonight. For within that most magnificent of speeches, lies another admonition of vital importance for the remnant of local churches and mission organisations of the present day.

In his speech, Churchill, whilst touching on an explanation as to why only three British Divisions were left to stand with the then fallen French Army, says at last, “I am not reciting these facts for the purpose of recrimination. That I judge to be utterly futile and even harmful. We cannot afford it. I recite them in order to explain why it was we did not have, as we could have had, between twelve and fourteen British divisions fighting in the line in this great battle instead of only three. Now I put all this aside. I put it on the shelf, from which the historians, when they have time, will select their documents to tell their stories. We have to think of the future and not of the past. This also applies in a small way to our own affairs at home. There are many who would hold an inquest in the House of Commons on the conduct of the Governments--and of Parliaments, for they are in it, too--during the years which led up to this catastrophe. They seek to indict those who were responsible for the guidance of our affairs. This also would be a foolish and pernicious process. There are too many in it. Let each man search his conscience and search his speeches. I frequently search mine. Of this I am quite sure, that if we open a quarrel between the past and the present, we shall find that we have lost the future.”

Did you hear Whinni’s final remark? “Of this I am quite sure, that if we open a quarrel between the past and the present, we shall find that we have lost the future.” I am becoming increasingly convinced that as we are now many hours after midnight, Winni’s final comment in that particular section of his ‘Finest Hour’ speech spawns three important points towards personal, local church and ‘church national’ revival.

Firstly then, we need to truly see the dire situation which we are in. There is a strange blindness in the church at large today, caused I think by the closing lids in a demonic sleepiness. It’s so bad, that if we ever do get fully on our knees, it’s still only a heavenly cattle rod placed up our stuck up rear end which will finally lift our heads and electrify and brighten our eyes! We need this to fully take in our most dreadful and urgent of positions. Those of you who dare, must pray for the urgent ramming of this rod of sparking illumination, so that we might finally give some standing and shouting, butt-clutching attention, to the plans and present conquests and victories of the enemy. We need to get off our backs, crawl on to our knees and finally leap to our ‘star jumping’ feet. Only a cattle rod up the rear end will do this. Yes, it’s time to stop laughing and start weeping and we can only do that if we get off our backs and up onto our feet.

Secondly, we must be presented personally, locally and nationally, with strategies for victory. These will be COMMANDING strategies, these will be DIFFERENT, DARING AND FAITH-FILLED strategies, SACRIFICIAL strategies, ALL NEW and ALL FRESH! They need to be, for there is one thing which we can be absolutely confident about and that is, that everything we have tried thus far has failed abysmally. THE NEW MUST COME.

Thirdly, in terms of failed strategies, pitiful power bases, bickering, bitchiness and blandness, we must personally, locally and nationally, THOROUGHLY let go of all these past hindrances, for I tell you, if we continue to clutch ANYTHING associated with past failures, we shall foster continual arguments between the present and the past and we shall never lay hold of our future. NEVER!

Make no mistake about it, the final arrival of Clarity and Command, if they are acknowledged , accepted and apprehended, will bring with them such a profound and shaking change to all of our structures, directions, patterns, partnerships, resource allocations, systems, styles, plans and personnel, that they will shake us to our core! However, the truth is, they bring with them tonight, probably the only chance of the recovery of any possibility of victory.

Finally, may I say that if the letting go of the past and laying hold of the future fails, if upon waking we do indeed find ourselves to be on the wrong side of the red line of destiny, then at least we can go down fighting. Yes, at least we can go out with a sword-wielding shout, instead of an abattoir’s whimper. Even so tonight, “Of this I am quite sure, that if we open a quarrel between the past and the present, we shall find that we have lost the future.”

Listen: - Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind. Philippians 3:15-16 NKJV

Pray:- Lord bring that very particular rod of correction tonight and ram it where the sun doesn’t shine! Wake us up O Lord and in the waking send us leaders, send us movers and send us shakers, in Jesus name we pray, amen.
