Dream Word – DESTINY

Judges 6:12  And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, "The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valour!" NKJV

The Re-Naming of The Shrew

Whatever you think of Gideon, he was, upon the receipt of our text for tonight, both a hiding and a quivering before the rampant Midianite swarm. Never the less, it was to him that the angel of the Lord appeared with a description of Gideon’s character and action, that as far as we know, bore no resemblance whatsoever to either his past or present condition! Even so, he was, according to the angel, and therefore could be and would be, nothing less than A MIGHTY MAN OF VALOUR. How wonderful.

I love the way that God consistently calls into being those things which are not! Well, not YET anyway. Especially people. So 'Jacob the Twister' is called Israel, 'Prince with God', yet frankly, you don’t get a glimpse of this until many years later, even on his death bed when he is praying and prophesying over his sons. So with Saul. Saul the accessory to murder and I suppose the instigator of the murder of a multitude of others, Saul the Paul, though immediately commissioned as an apostle to the Gentiles, did not for many years fulfil that calling. Yet he was an apostle, even in the quiet and studious repentant years of preparation! God tells and God calls it and so it surely shall be.

So when God gives new names to projects and to peoples, to dreams and to visions, they most thoroughly encapsulate much, much more of what those things shall be, rather than what they at present are. Indeed, their future shall resemble little to their present, never mind their past. Yes, with both a new name and a Divine declaration, a hope and a future can be birthed by such prophetic proclamation. Yes, with a name and a declaration, God can change a shrew into a samurai and a mouse into a magnificent knight. Go ask Reepicheep!

Listen: - And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:18-19 NKJV.)

Pray:- Lord, call me forth, to a resurrected life and a designated destiny of a proclaimed path. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
