Jan | 13 | Show & Tell

Key Word:- CONSIDER

Title:- Show & Tell

Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

In the Kingdom, the power of the Holy Spirit has but one primary purpose: Witness, witness, ever wider, wider witness; and the context of such witnessing is always, life-changing love. Remember, when Clara Peller, of 'Wendy’s' ‘Where’s the Beef?’ fame, later appeared in a 'Prego Plus' spaghetti sauce commercial saying “I found it!” and ‘Wendy’s’ fired her saying “Clara can find the beef only in one place, and that is Wendy's.” Well friends in the same way, the capacity to effectively and authentically witness in such loving power, can only be found in Christ. It rests nowhere else in any universe or in any other dimension. Absolutely nowhere! Friends, the power of kingdom transferring, heart changing, sacrificial love which Christians possess, rests nowhere else but in the love and blood of Jesus Christ their Lord. Imagine that.

What can this power do? Well, it can cast out demons, it can give sight to the blind, heal the leper, cause the lame to walk, part the sea, still storms, move mountains and even raise the dead and even harder still, it can thoroughly change peoples hearts! You see, it is complete power over the natural and a complete power over the supernatural. Please God let us possess, experience and use this power, this meat of Christianity and see such things happen among us in our day that we read of in the Holy Scriptures! Let us not settle for a flea-ridden and rotting carcass of a Christianity, let’s not settle for so much less when we are the ‘so much more’ people of the Holy Scriptures!

However friends, in all our seeking and in all our desiring to see such powerful wonders among us, lest we focus on the miracle rather than the Master of the miracle, let us also remember what is the target and the potency of the miracles of God. The target is the heart and the potency of the power is its most magnificent ability, both to kill and make alive at the same time, to bring the chrysalis as it were, and the butterfly into being in one glorious moment in time. Let power follow the Word then and int hat power, let us see peoples hearts be changed and the devil’s minions maimed. Let selfish hearts of hate, be turned into selfless hearts of love, for here at the heart of all our matters is where the Spirit if God is most magnificently at work.

Remember, this transforming power that turns hearts of stone to hearts of flesh lies only within God’s kingdom. Only God can change a murderer to a minister, or a thief to a philanthropist. Only God can open the selfish cesspits of the human heart and make it fit to receive the purest love, even make it desirable in giving the truest of love. After all friends, this is real power; I say again, THIS IS THE REAL POWER of the Gospel, heart change and heart love for one another in the church and heart love for others outside the church, and because of that, Jesus calls it ‘the one true witness.’

Such mighty changing that orbits around selfless love, is found nowhere else but in the church of the living God and to be truly authentic, we must both experience and powerfully practice this kind of mighty and miraculous life changing loving. Yes indeed, when we come to the uncross-able rivers of the cold and frothing, turbulent and rushing hearts of the hardened lost then we too, like the prophet of old, must take both the Word and prayer, reach up our hand into the heavens by the Holy Spirit, who is indeed the very mantle of Christ fallen upon us from above, and crash both our pleading and our heartfelt desire, across the hearts of the all the watching and the all the listening, crying out with all our spirit… “Where is the God of Elijah?” We need the power of love, we need the power to love, and we need the evidence of that one true witness amongst us today.

Listen: -"By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35

Pray: - Father, come break my heart. Show me myself. Lead me to a place of change, and let me find Your power. Let me find You, my Lord and my God. Come break my heart, fill me again and help me to cry in believing faith before all the cold indifferent hardness that surrounds the table of Your waiting goodness today. In Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen.
